Peter Avey - Dip.Couns
Originally from the UK, Peter has been in Australia since 2011 and the lovely Mudgee region since 2018.
Peter has a Diploma in Banking Services from the UK while working in the Financial Sector and has a Diploma of Counselling.
Peter has a diverse range of counselling interests including, clients living with disability, LGBTIQ+ clients, trauma, couples and family relationships, AOD addiction and works with children, adolescents and adults. Peter is also Chair of Mid-Western People Against Violence.
Peter likes to empower clients based on their individuality and personal circumstances in aiming to improve a persons' ability to withstand the struggles everyone can encounters throughout their lifetime.
Peter is a Level 2 soccer referee and uses this experience in helping to facilitate difficult conversations. Peter has performed in the local theatre and currently is Treasurer to 3 non-for-profit organisations.
Peter volunteers with NALAG (National Association for Loss and Grief) and with the RFS (Rural Fire Service). Peter’s interest include, golf, walking his dalmatians, travelling, learning new counselling techniques and cooking.
